John Evans Supportive Living Community
The John Evans Supportive Living Community is located off 14th Street in Pekin, 1 1/2 miles south of Pekin Hospital.
The affordable assisted lifestyle community houses 76 studio and one-bedroom apartments, each with a kitchenette, spacious bathroom, individually controlled heating and air conditioning system and emergency response system.
Fully certified through the State of Illinois’ Supportive Living program, the community is designed for adults 65 and older of all incomes who may need some help to maintain their independence.
The community was developed and is owned by the Laborers Home Development
Corporation, a not-for-profit affordable housing developer associated with the Midwest
Region of the Laborers’ International Union.
Managed by BMA Management, Ltd., the community combines the benefits of residential apartment home living with the availability of personal assistance, support services and opportunities for residents to enjoy the companionship of friends and neighbors and participate in activities and special events.
Certified nurses assistances are on-duty 24 hours a day, seven days a week to provide help with medications, bathing, dressing, grooming and ambulation. Three meals a day, housekeeping and laundry services are included. Services such as health assessments, health monitoring, education and physician communication are also available.
Older adults of all incomes, including those who cannot afford private pay assisted living, can qualify for residency.
Community areas include an activity room, beauty/barber shop, convenience store, dining room, exercise room, library, patio and television lounge.
