Here in Illinois, we have something special to celebrate. We have a program that provides seniors and adults with physical disabilities with a wonderful alternative to living in a nursing home or to struggling alone at home.
The program, which is called Supportive Living, benefits those of all incomes, especially individuals who are on Medicaid or who only receive Social Security benefits.
It enables individuals who need some help to maintain their independence to live in a residential environment and receive the help with medications and personal assistance they need.
The program has experienced significant growth since the first Supportive Living community opened for occupancy in 1999. Today, there are more than 140 Supportive Living communities, often called affordable assisted living communities, located in more than 70 Counties in northern, central and southern Illinois. Together, these communities house nearly 11,000 apartments.
BMA Management is honored to operate 36 of these communities, making us the largest operator of Supportive Living communities in the State.
Our focus is on providing residents with the Love, Compassion and Dignity they deserve in addition to the care and assistance they need.

Residents live in private apartments that feature a kitchenette, spacious bathrooms with showers and grab bars, and emergency alert system. They can furnish and decorate the apartments to their taste.
Certified nursing assistants are on-duty 24 hours a day, seven days a week. They work under the direction of a licensed nurse.
All three meals each day, housekeeping and laundry are among the included services.
Residents also benefit from all of the opportunities that are available to enjoy the companionship of friends and neighbors and participate in social, educational and recreational activities.
Most of our communities are designed to serve adults 65 years of age or older. Communities are located from as far north as Belvidere, Freeport, Gurnee and Rockford to as far south as Benton and Carbondale. This includes the City of Chicago and the surrounding suburban area; the Metro East area of St. Louis; and the Quad Cities.
Earlier this year, we opened Deer Path of Huntley (image top right), an affordable assisted living community that serves adults 22 to 64 years of age with physical disabilities. We also operate White Oaks at Heritage Woods of South Elgin, one of five Memory Care pilot projects approved by the State to operate through the Supportive Living program.
