Cambridge House serves adults 65 and older who need some help to maintain their independence

A financial assistance program is available to those who qualify, making the Cambridge House lifestyle affordable to all. If you or a loved one would benefit from our assisted lifestyle community, but are concerned about financial arrangements, please do not hesitate to ask our staff about this financial assistance program.

The Supportive Living Program is available in Illinois for seniors 65 or older who need help maintaining their independence regardless of their financial resources. Seniors on Medicaid who only receive minimum Social Security income can qualify.

An Affordable Community

Cambridge House of swansea is especially designed to serve the older adult and is one of the most sought-after communities.

The community is one of three Cambridge House properties located in the St. Louis Metro East area. Swansea is located in St. Clair County, Illinois, near the communities of Belleville and Fairview Heights. Our community is located on Sullivan Drive between Frank Scott Parkway and Rte. 161 in Swansea. The other affordable assisted lifestyle communities are located in Maryville and O’Fallon.

Our three-story building houses 103 one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments, each with its own kitchenette, private bathroom with shower and emergency response system. Community areas include an activity room, beauty/barber shop, convenience store, dining room, exercise room, library, patio and television lounge. A wonderful alternative

Cambridge House provides a wonderful residential alternative to a nursing home or to struggling alone at home.

At Cambridge House, residents:

  • Live in the privacy of his/her own apartment, which has been conveniently designed for senior living.
  • Receive personal assistance and help with medications. Certified staff are on duty 24-hours a day, seven days a week. Support services, such as three daily meals, housekeeping and laundry, are also included.
  • Enjoy the companionship of friends and neighbors and participate in social and recreational activities.

Louise’s Story: Support From Strangers Makes Her Feel Like She’s Gone to Heaven
Louise could no longer stay in her apartment in town, so her pastor brought her to Cambridge House for a tour.

She loved it. But as many older adults, Louise had no family or nearby friends to help her move or take her to doctor appointments. Through the efforts of Cambridge families and friends, Louise was able to complete her assessment process, get to the bank and pick a day to move in to her new home.
