Grand Prairie Resident Has Talent Date Posted : 03/14/2012 A performance by Grand Prairie resident Ruth Parks has been selected as one of the “Top 25” in the 2012 SLFs Got Talent contest. The contest is being hosted by the Affordable Assisted Living Coalition (AALC). The organization represents affordable assisted living communities such as Grand Prairie of Macomb that operate through the Illinois Supportive Living program. Ms. Parks' piano performance was selected by a panel of judges as one of the “Top 25” from entries of performances by residents submitted by more than 60 communities located throughout the State. “Voting will now help determine which of the 25 will make the Top 10,” says Andrea Keene, Administrator of Grand Prairie of Macomb. “Everyone is invited to view a video of Ms. Parks' performance as well as the other 24 performances and select which one they think is best.” You can vote anytime between now and the end of the day on Saturday, March 31. Each person is asked to vote only once. Residents who have been selected as having one of the “Top 10” performances will have the opportunity to perform live in the Finals on April 30 and May 1 in Springfield, Illinois, as part of AALC’s annual visit to the State Capitol.
