Heritage Woods of Flora is the first affordable assisted living community to be developed by BMA Management, Ltd. through the State of Illinois’ Supportive Living program.
Nestled in southeastern Illinois on West Forth Street, south of Hwy. 45/50 and east of Hwy. 1, in Flora, the Heritage Woods community is the only affordable assisted lifestyle community in Clay County, Illinois.
The City of Flora is located south of Effingham, between Olney and Salem.
The community has been managed by BMA Management, Ltd., since it opened in 2000.
Especially Designed for You
Designed to serve adults 65 and older of all incomes, Heritage Woods of Flora especially benefits those who do not have the financial resources to afford private pay assisted living and offers a wonderful alternative to nursing home care or struggling alone at home.
The community combines residential apartment home living with the availability of personal assistance, support services and opportunities for residents to enjoy the companionship of friends and neighbors and to participate in social events and programs.
The two-story building houses 52 studio and one-bedroom apartments, each with its own kitchenette, private bathroom with shower, and emergency response system.
Certified nurses assistants are on-duty 24 hours a day, seven days a week to provide the personal assistance needed by residents. They work under the direction of the community's licensed nursing staff.
At the Heritage Woods of Flora community, you’ll find that the staff is like family and that the dining room offers down-home cooking that everyone loves. After a meal, residents often linger to visit and catch up on their day.
You'll also find plenty of social activities. Even the men have their own "Pies and Lies" Club that meets once a month. Scheduled transportation is even available for shopping and a variety of outings.
