Listen to Ruth's Story
Ruth previously lived with her daughter. She and her daughter had been exploring options for Ruth to be able to have a place to call her own. They chose Heritage Woods of Moline because she liked the fact that she would have her own privacy and could be independent but there were staff available to her 24 hours a day to provide support if needed.
Ruth moved into Heritage Woods in November of 2022. You can find Ruth outside getting her hands dirty. She loves gardening and does a fabulous job creating and maintaining flowers around the grounds. In addition to keeping busy outside Ruth is a part of the Heritage Woods of Moline Resident Ambassador program where she welcomes new residents, helps with preparing for events and works on the team to assist the management at the community.
Charles is So Thankful for His New Home!
Charles is a veteran and moved into Heritage Woods of Moline with his sister. They had been renting in the community but were having issues with the landlord addressing maintenance needs of the home resulting in poor living conditions.
When Charles moved in, staff helped to get him unpacked and assisted with taking inventory of what he needed. Soon he was all settled in with a new place to call home. Charles shared that Heritage Woods of Moline is the nicest home he has ever lived in and is thankful to be able to call it his home.
Patti Loves to Relax and Have Fun!
Patti has lived at Heritage Woods of Moline for a little over 5 years. Prior to moving in she had a few hospitalizations and was scared to be home by herself. Patti no longer has hospital visits and is doing great. She always enjoys telling everyone what a wonderful place it is and how she likes it here. Patti enjoys the people and activities. She is an avid walker and enjoys dancing. Patti continues to go out to dance at East Moline Legion and the Geneseo Community Center.
Patti states she is now able to relax and have fun.
Meet Jerome
Jerome has lived at Heritage Woods of Moline for almost 10 years. Prior to coming here, he had been living with a friend and looking forward to having his own place. Heritage Woods assisted with furnishing his apartment and created opportunities for him to feel at home.
Jerome’s favorite activities are blackjack, happy hour, bingo and listening to live music. Recently Jerome had a health scare which resulted in a hospitalization. While in the hospital Heritage Woods staff showed up to provide support and comfort. Fortunately, Jerome recovered and made it back to Heritage Woods the place he calls home.

Peace of Mind, a Place to Call Home For My Mom
We are writing this letter to express our sincere appreciation for all that was done for our dear Betty for all the years she lived at Heritage Woods. As one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, she was an avid Bible reader. And at Colossians 3:15 it says to “show yourselves thankful”. This letter hopefully expresses to some extent out thankfulness from the bottom of our hearts for all the hard work.
For the very elderly like Betty, there is not much for them to truly enjoy. To say that she appreciated the delicious meals that were planned is an understatement. She enjoyed the variety and looked forward to trying the new additions that were added to the menu. Betty’s favorite meal was breakfast but she never stopped mentioning something ‘wonderful’ that was served that day and how much she enjoyed it. More than one visiting doctor stopped by the dining room to just see what it was like, and they always mentioned to Betty how impressed they were with the atmosphere and that the food as they also took the time to look at the menu. To the staff in the kitchen and the dietician, THANK YOU!
Also, we appreciated so much to walk into Betty’s room and always see it clean. We were very impressed to always see how clean her bathroom was! Not only her apartment, but when we brought people to visit Betty at Heritage Woods, and they entered the lobby they would exclaim out loud, “what a lovely place!” Other visitors commented on the beautiful decor in the hallways and the cleanliness. With the regular cleaning of her clothes, Betty always looked so presentable. Maintenance was wonderful as everything in her room was always fixed and working. To the cleaning/maintenance staff, please know you make a difference that does not go unnoticed. THANK YOU! To have nurses and CNA’s to talk with about our day-to-day concerns with Betty’s health was a welcome relief. Nothing concerns you more than the health of loved ones. To know your loved one is being watched, that vitals and medicines are given and taken care of, is a blessing! It gave us the freedom to spend quality time together as a family so that we did not have to spend all of our time as ‘caregivers’. Our weekly ‘family day’ was the highlight of our week and it never involved talking about health. We could just enjoy quality time together. To the nurses and CNA’s, THANK YOU!
There is much to organize and schedule to keep a place like Heritage Woods running smoothly. That was especially evident during the pandemic. It was wonderful to see the care given to protect the residents but also the love shown to help them get out and walk around with staff. The focus was more than efficiency, it was also on quality of life for those who live there. For all those who work in the offices, THANK YOU!
We cannot possibly list every department or mention everything that was done for Betty. If we have missed some, please do not feel slighted. TO ALL WE GIVE OUR HEARTFELT THANKS!

My mother has been a resident of Heritage Woods for a year now. I have nothing but praise for the entire staff. Everyone is friendly. Premises are very clean and well taken care of. My Dad's Journey
I am so grateful for all the staff at Heritage Woods of Moline and for dad’s time there. It fills my heart as it was so hard to make the choice to have dad move into Assisted Living. I knew in my heart he would eventually thrive, but he was dealing with so much loss in the transition. Thank you to your team for caring so well for him and for creating a place where he has truly learned to enjoy living. Your community truly helped him thrive.
