Ribbon Cutting Marks Opening of 6th New Community in 2009

The Nov. 18th ribbon cutting ceremony to mark the opening of the Heritage Woods of Dwight affordable assisted living community capped a truly remarkable year for BMA.
“With Heritage Woods of Dwight, we opened six new communities in 2009 and completed the expansion of two others,” says Blair Minton, Founder of BMA.
In all this year, BMA has added nearly 650 homes and apartments to serve the needs of older adults.
We now manage 33 senior living communities, housing nearly 2,950 homes and apartments.
Thirty of the communities offer affordable assisted living designed for older adults of all incomes who may need some help to maintain their independence. The affordable assisted living communities especially benefit those who cannot afford private pay assisted living.
Located in Livingston County, the Heritage Woods of Dwight affordable assisted living community houses 68 apartments. Studio and one-bedroom floor plans are available.
The $8 million development has been fully certified by the State of Illinois to operate as a Supportive Living Facility. The community was designed by Gleason Architects of Spring Grove, Illinois. Heritage Development & Construction, Inc., of Kankakee, Illinois, served as the General Contractor.

In 2009, BMA also opened the Cambridge House of Swansea affordable assisted living community, the Heritage Woods of Bolingbrook affordable assisted living community, the Heritage Woods of Huntley assisted living community, the Heritage Woods of South Elgin affordable assisted living community, and the Heritage Woods of Sterling affordable assisted living community.
We expanded Heritage Woods of Centralia to include 50 affordable rental homes for low income adults 55 and older, opened 16 senior living apartments and added 10 more affordable assisted living apartments.
At the Lighthouse at Silvis senior living community, an additional memory care neighborhood was opened. The community also features senior living and assisted living apartments.
