Six representatives of BMA Management, Ltd., have been tapped to speak at the 2010 Annual Meeting and Exposition of the Life Services Network (LSN).
LSN is comprised of more than 545 providers of services to older adults, including supportive and assisted living, senior housing, skilled nursing and rehab, and home and community-based services.
The 2010 Annual Meeting and Exposition is scheduled to be held March 24 through 26 at Navy Pier in Chicago.
Representatives of BMA will be conducting the following continuing education sessions:
“Improving Operational Leadership via an Intentional Community Culture”
Rod Burkett, President of BMA Management, will be making this presentation. He will be providing information on how to write your own leadership agenda; how to articulate your personal brand of leadership; and how to reduce conflict by achieving authentic conversation levels.
“Quality Assurance for Supportive Living Facility Regulation Compliance”
With BMA being the largest provider of supportive living in Illinois, two of our Regional Directors of Operations, Amy Eubank and Kim Ioerger, RN, will be discussing SLF Quality Assurance regulations; developing a Quality Assurance Committee; and utilizing the QA Committee to identify areas of study to achieve and maintain regulatory compliance.
“Medicaid A to Z for Supportive Living Facilities”
Jo Ellen Bleavins, BSN, Senior Vice President of Management for BMA, and Keri Horn, Regional Director of Operations, will be conducting this presentation. They will be discussing how to identify Medicaid eligible residents and assist them in the application process; how to complete and submit the Medicaid admit packet; and how to read Medicaid payment reports and submit discrepancy reports.
“Performance Improvement Plans and Disciplinary Action: Taking the Rights Steps”
Jo Ellen Bleavins and Keri Horn of BMA will be joined by Karleen Lergner, Vice President of Human Resources for People, Etc., LLC, of Kankakee, Illinois, for this presentation.
They will discuss when a performance improvement plan or disciplinary action is needed; developing and presenting performance improvement plans and performance evaluations; and developing and presenting disciplinary action up to and including termination.
“Sex and the Senior”
BMA Regional Directors of Operations Amy Eubank; Kim Ioerger, RN; and Colleen Wille will be conducting this presentation.
They will be reviewing statistics relevant to the increasing sexual activity among older adults and the resulting increase in sexually transmitted disease; discussing how to determine the appropriateness of sexual behavior and what documentation may be needed; and exploring the “to whom, what and how” to report the sexual behavior of residents.
