The community is located just east of Colorado and Philo, near the Stone Creek Golf Course in Urbana and is managed by BMA Management, Ltd., the leading provider of assisted living in Illinois.

Fully certified to operate through the State of Illinois' Supportive Living program, Prairie Winds of Urbana is designed to serve adults 65 and older of all incomes who may need some help to maintain their independence. The affordable assisted living community provides a wonderful alternative to a nursing home or to struggling alone at home and especially benefits seniors who cannot afford private pay assisted living.

A neighborhood of duplex homes for adults 55 and better also is located on the more than three acre campus.

The Praire Winds affordable assisted lifestyle community combines residential apartment home living with the availability of personal assistance, support services and opportunities for residents to enjoy the companionship of friends and neighbors and to participate in social events and programs.

Each of the apartments features a kitchenette, private bathroom with shower, and emergency response system. Studio and one-bedroom floor plans are available.

Certified nurses assistants are on-duty 24 hours a day, seven days a week to provide the personal assistance needed by residents. They work under the direction of the community's licensed nursing staff.
