At the age of 95 Manny Shellist, a resident of Heritage Woods of Bolingbrook, took up the hobby of Wood carving. Manny at 96 conceived the idea and personally carved the 1,211 individual 3/4 inch high letters which make up the 272 words contained in this historic document. condolences

During Supportive Living Week 2010. On Thursday, April 29, 2010 the Eagle Ridge Community was visited by the Scovill Zoo's • Traveling Zoo. Bringing with them an array of specimens.

Part of the Decatur • Park District, the Scovill Zoo is one of 210 accredited zoos or aquariums by The Association of Zoos & Aquariums, most of which are located in North America.

Nestled along the shores of Lake Decatur, Scovill Zoo is home to more than 500 animals spanning six continents. Visitors can see South African Cheetahs, an Australian Wallaby, or Golden Lion Tamarins from Brazil. An exciting zebra habitat, featuring beautiful zebras Kizuri and Chad, was added in the summer of 2007.
