The Greater Southwest Development Corporation has done an impressive job of community redevelopment designed to improve the quality of life for residents on the southwest side. In addition to Churchview Supportive Living, the organization owns and operates two affordable independent living communities on 63rd Street.

The neighborhood where Churchview is located is full of history, starting with the bungalow homes that were built between 1890 and 1940. Generation after generation of families have grown up in these homes with many utilizing Holy Cross Hospital as their hospital of choice. The hospital has been providing excellent care since 1927. The neighborhood features a variety of ethnic restaurants and shops, and downtown Chicago, the Museum of Science and Industry, and the Lithuanian Museum and Cultural Center are minutes away.

Ounita’s Story:
Home Sweet Home
Whenever you see Ounita, she is always smiling. And these days, she has a million reasons to smile.

That wasn’t always the case. After Ounita lost her husband several years ago, she felt lost and alone. She lived with different family members and friends until deciding that she was at a point in her life where she needed a place of her own. By chance, a friend told her about Churchview Supportive Living. She came in for a tour and fell in love with our community.
